Currently, some disputes have flared up at Furnal Equinox regarding famed fursuit maker FirestormSix who recently got his DJ set cancelled and as a result, will not be attending the convention this year. This comes after FirestormSix was attacked online for wearing a Native American headdress over his fursuit. Yet despite having Aboriginal/First Nations heritage, the attack still continued.
Here is a journal entry written by FirestormSix recounting the attack and some prior events leading up to it. Retrieved 26 January 2018, from http://archive.li/4BX97

This really sucks!!

If i some day came to one convention wearing some traditional clothes from my country, i could get banned for "cultural appropriation"??

SJW are really dumbass but thats is not important, the dangerous problem is WHY all the convention's CEO are supporting those jercks??
FE could be blamed as racist for this!!!

I wouldn't put it that bluntly, but there are other reasons for scrapping the parade.

Logistics nightmares are a reason for conventions to do so because cramming large numbers of fursuits into a holding room that may be small could be impractical.

Opinions are mixed about these social meet & greets, of course. Which fursuits are going to draw the biggest crowds or not at all. That said, I'm still in favour of having the parade.

If there are way too much fursuits and the holding room is way to small to hold them, like in MFF's case the past 2 years, that's understandable not to host the parade.

Conventions have to organise to the limitations of space and attendance, among other things.
